Blue! (the band).. Sister Sledge! .. Food in Abundance! .. Wines & Champagnes!! .. It’s coming on September 1st, I can barely contain myself!

Get ready to for a sensory overload at the Foodies Festival 2024 in Stoke Park, Guildford – this is an event you don’t want to miss!

For the first time ever, the UK’s biggest food festival is in Guildford, incredible food to taste, a ridiculous array of drinks, and live music from, well, you know who now! 🎶

What’s on the menu? Good question.

They’ve got MasterChef Champions and Michelin-starred chefs whipping up their favorite summer dishes in the La Española Chefs Theatre. There Cake & Dessert Theatre will have Great British Bake Off stars serving up baking secrets, tips, and delicious recipes that are almost too pretty to eat (almost). 🍰

Swing by The Drinks Theatre to sip, or down, its up to you, new wines, champagnes, and cocktails. 🍷 And if you’re feeling adventurous, there is a fiery chilli-eating competitions and food challenges, i’ll give that a miss!

I know I’ve told you all about a lot of festivals recently, but come on, who wouldn’t want to sing Blue’s One Love and eat cake at the same time!?

G Live Have a Cracker For The Kids This Week! 🎭

From Tuesday, August 27th to Thursday, August 29th, 2024, at G Live - The Lion Inside is on!

This delightful new stage adaptation of the beloved story by Rachel Bright is based on her bestselling story about confidence, self-esteem, and a shy little mouse who sets out on a journey to find his roar.

It’ll be a heart warming one, a modern classic, The Lion Inside has sold over 200,000 copies in the UK alone and been translated into over 30 languages worldwide!

Directed by Sarah Punshon (The Jungle Book) and featuring music and lyrics by Eamonn O’Dwyer (Brief Encounter), this show is filled with catchy songs, lively characters, and a really powerful message for everyone! 🎶

A Day Devoted to Stars and Stripes At Brooklands Museum! 🇺🇸

It’s back, and in true American style, bigger and better than ever!

From Dodges and Chryslers to Chevrolets, Oldsmobiles, Fords, and even some old school Hot Rods, there’s something for everyone, it’ll give you that “I need to do Route 66 trip” ideas!

Plus, there’s going to be special Transformers guests, Bumblebee and Optimus Prime – how amazing is that! 🤖🚙

When?
📍 Sunday, September 1, 2024, from 10am to 5pm.

Tickets are no extra cost for the event – it’s included with your regular Museum admission, but I’d recommend pre-booking if you’re interested. Children under 4 and Members get in for free.

If you do pre-book, you’ll be in with a chance of winning an unforgettable trip to Michigan! 🎟️✈️

Tips For Getting There from my experience..

Non-American vehicles, park in The Heights off Wellington Way and follow the event signage.

If you’re driving an American car, enter via Campbell Gate on Brooklands Road - the old JTI entrance.

The museum offers step-free access throughout the site, and remember, only assistance dogs are allowed on-site.

The Digest 🗞️😀

We had amazing Olympians, and now it’s time for our incredible Paralympians: Our very own Helene Raynsford from Guildford Rowing Club teamed up with wheelchair curling star Gregor Ewan to light the Paralympic flame. Ms Raynsford was the first ever Paralympic champion in Para rowing when the sport made its debut at Beijing 2008 - a huge honour for her, and us Surreytonians! 🏆👏

Unbelievable scenes on Sunday as traffic was stopped on the M25 for a Horse Rescue: If you were out on Sunday, you might have noticed some unexpected traffic drama on the M25. Traffic was brought to a standstill in both directions near junction 6 for Godstone, all because of a horse that needed to be safely moved after a vehicle breakdown - only in Surrey.. 🐴🚗
