The Digest 🗞️😀

Surrey's bus services are getting a much-needed boost with a £12 million investment from the Department for Transport: The funding will help improve reliability, increase the frequency of buses on busy routes, and protect vital services in rural areas. Surrey County Council is also stepping up its green game, adding 54 zero-emission buses to the fleet and enhancing passenger info at bus stops. With 26 million journeys made by bus in Surrey last year, these upgrades are set to make travel smoother and greener for everyone. 🚌🌱

Minecraft is breaking out of the screen and into the real world: Merlin Entertainments, the group behind Thorpe Park and Legoland, has teamed up with Mojang Studios to create the first-ever Minecraft attractions, set to open in the UK and US between 2026 and 2027. Expect jaw-dropping rides, themed restaurants, and even Minecraft-inspired accommodations. With a whopping £85 million investment, this is a game-changer for theme parks—and the ultimate adventure for block-building fans. 🎢⛏️

Winter is here, and the Met Office has issued fresh yellow weather warnings for snow and ice across the UK, causing a chilly disruption: With temperatures plummeting to as low as -7°C in the north and icy conditions making roads treacherous, drivers and pedestrians are urged to take extra care. Snow showers are expected to blanket parts of southern and central England, Wales, and Scotland, with up to 10cm likely in some areas. So, grab your woolly hats and scarves—it’s officially time to embrace the frosty weather! ❄️🧤
