Surrey’s Biggest One-Day Food Festival is Back! (over 2 days!) 🎉🍔

If you’re not completely done with festivals by this point of the Summer, there’s another one here for you!

FeastyFest on Saturday, 7th and Sunday, 8th September 2024 at Cheam Park in Sutton!

Get ready for two days of non-stop entertainment! Live music, delicious food, and family-friendly activities await.

Since its start in 2018, FeastyFest has grown into Surrey’s largest one-day food festival, so big it’s now 2 days, not 1 🤣!

Expect a full festival experience with delicious eats from local producers, unreal music (the Vengaboys!) and so much more!

• 🎶 Live Music: Enjoy The House and Garage Orchestra on Saturday and the Vengaboys on Sunday!

Leatherhead Fire Station Open Day 🚒

There have been a few Fire Station open days around Surrey this summer, but this is your last chance!

On Sunday, 8th September, Leatherhead Fire Station is opening its doors for a fantastic open day from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Located at Elm Road, Leatherhead, KT22 7BT.

The day kicks off with a special hour from 10:00 am to 11:00 am dedicated to visitors with special educational needs, providing a quieter and more accessible experience, and then from 11:00 am onwards, everyone is welcome in to explore the Fire Station, ask questions, and more.

• Meet The Local Heroes: Get to know the firefighters who keep our community safe and learn about their daily work.

• Explore Fire Engines: Kids and adults alike can climb aboard fire engines, see the equipment up close, and even try on some firefighter gear.

• Fun for All Ages: With interactive demonstrations and activities, there’s something for everyone to enjoy and learn.

This is a great chance to see behind the scenes at Leatherhead Fire Station and gain a better understanding of the incredible work our firefighters do every day.

Bring your family, learn something new, have a good nose around, and enjoy a fun day!

On-demand buses are now available in East, Central, North, and Southwest Surrey. No more waiting around for fixed timetables - just hop on when you need it! The service runs Monday to Friday, 7 am to 7 pm, and Saturdays, 8 am to 6 pm. You can book a ride as little as 30 minutes in advance, or plan up to 7 days ahead, with the price starting from as little as £2! Not too bad! 🚌🚏

Nearly 9,000 people have signed a petition to rebuild Frimley Park Hospital after it was found to contain unstable concrete. Although the hospital was promised funding for a new building last year, as usual, all the recent government changes have put those plans on hold, stating that previous commitments were “undeliverable and unaffordable.” Frimley Park Hospital, with about 65% of its structure made up of unstable concrete, it is in dire need of some work before an accident happens. 🏥⚠️
