On November 16th, Brooklands parkrun hits a big milestone - six incredible years of community, camaraderie, blisters, and weekly 5Ks!

Join the celebration with a relaxed, friendly vibe and a few fun extras to make this run a little more special than usual.

It doesn’t matter if you're a seasoned runner or just starting out, this is the perfect weekend to show up and get moving.. and there is no better way to start your weekend than a cheeky 5km, it makes those weekend treats guilt free!

• 6th Birthday Celebration: Mark six years of great runs and good company with the whole parkrun community!

• Optional Fancy Dress: Feel free to add a dash of Disney (or go full Star Wars & Marvel for a bit of flair), but no pressure—come as you are if that’s more your style.

Godalming Goat Walking is Here! 🐐🚶

How’s this for a fun and random thing to do! Goat walking!

Get ready for a delightful stroll with some of Surrey’s most charming residents—the pygmy goats of Godalming!

Starting November 16th, you can now book a spot to take these little characters for a guided walk through a gorgeous, rewilded meadow.

Perfect for families, friends, or anyone needing a bit of nature therapy with a twist. And to make it even more magical, your goat pals might just be decked out in holiday-themed gear during the festive season! 🎄

What’s Included in Your Goat Adventure:

• Guided Goat Walk: 40 minutes of strolling your chosen goat on a lead through scenic woodland meadows.

• Piggy Pit Stop: Feed the friendly kune kune pig family along the way.

• Photo & Cuddle Session: Wrap up the walk with 15-20 minutes for snuggles and photos with your new goat buddy.

⏰ Time: Starting Saturday 16th Nov 2024, 1-hour sessions (various times available)

Cobham got a rock ‘n’ roll surprise when Queen legend Brian May strolled into a local furniture shop—rocking his guitar in full pyjama glory: May joined X Factor alum Talia Dean in Cobham Furniture to film a wild, bed-bouncing music video for Dean’s latest single, You Made Your Bed. The track, which dropped Friday, features May shredding an epic 16-bar solo and aims to support Crisis, with 10% of proceeds going to help homelessness. Dean called May “a good friend and a good person,” sharing how he jumped at the chance to bring his amps and rock out in support of a cause close to her heart. 🎸🛏️

Surrey's Painshill roundabout has become the center of a traffic storm, with Runnymede and Weybridge MP Ben Spencer calling the roadworks an "absolute shambles.": The extensive works at junction 10 of the M25 and A3 have led to closures and disruptions that residents say are disrupting daily life - especially around school runs for local families. National Highways, aiming to improve traffic flow, closed the northbound A3 slip road and adjusted traffic lights to prioritize eastbound traffic on the A245. While Dr. Spencer acknowledged the long-term benefits, he emphasised that residents are “tearing their hair out” over the chaos, I know I have been! National Highways has apologized and promised an end to the disruptions by late November. 🚗💥

Surrey Police’s HQ at Mount Browne is set for a major facelift after Guildford Borough Council gave the green light to redevelopment plans: The project includes a new access road aimed at shaving two minutes off response times, upgrades to the dog training school, and a new Contact and Deployment Centre. With a multi-storey car park and electric charging points also in the mix, the Force hopes the modernized facilities will support both operations and staff well-being. Despite some impact on the Green Belt, councillors praised the compact design and minimal height increase. Mount Browne has been Surrey Police’s home for over 70 years, and the Force believes these changes will help them better serve the community while retaining top talent! 🚓📈
