Guildford Vintage Kilo Sale – Shop Big, Spend Small 🛍️

The Guildford Vintage Kilo Sale is back on Saturday, 25 January, bringing nine tonnes of handpicked, pre-loved fashion straight to Guildford Cathedral.

If you love the thrill of the find and the joy of a bargain, this is the event for you!

The concept is simple: grab a bag, fill it with vintage gems, and pay just £20 per kilo.

Whether you’re after a ‘70s leather jacket, a ‘90s windbreaker, or some classic Levi’s, you can mix and match your way to the perfect haul.

And don’t worry about missing out, the organisers keep restocking all day, so there’s fresh treasure no matter when you arrive.

🎟️ Ticket Info:

The Early Bird ticket (£3) gets you in between 10-11am giving you first dibs on the best pieces.

After that, general admission starts at 12 PM for just £2 (and kids under 12 go free!).

You don’t have to rush out after your time slot, you can stay and browse as long as you like.

Twickenham Lunar New Year Celebrations! 🎉🐉

I know this isn’t technically in Surrey, but it’s not far away!

There will be a spectacular Lunar New Year celebration in Twickenham on Sunday, 26 January 2025!

The festivities kick off at 1:00pm with the Dragon Parade at Twickenham Green.

Expect a vibrant dragon dance, live music, and plenty of energy as the parade winds its way through Twickenham.

Here’s where you can catch it:

📍 Parade Route:

• Starts at 1 PM – Twickenham Green

• Continues along: Heath Road, King Street, London Road, Church Street

• Final stop: Twickenham Riverside (ending around 3:30 PM)

This is your chance to soak up the atmosphere, snap some incredible photos, and enjoy the spectacle of traditional Chinese celebrations right in the heart of Twickenham!

Prostate Cancer Testing Event at Farnham Rugby Club

Cancer Testing South is hosting a Prostate Cancer Testing Event at Farnham Rugby Union Football Club, offering simple PSA blood tests to check for early signs of prostate issues, including cancer.

Surrey’s roads are about to get a high-tech makeover, with AI-powered cameras helping to detect and track potholes across the county: The new system, fitted to highways vehicles, will spot and photograph road defects in real time, making repairs faster, safer, and more efficient - no more inspectors dodging traffic to log a dodgy tarmac patch. With nearly £300m allocated for road improvements until 2028 and over 100 miles of roads resurfaced last year, Surrey is paving the way (literally) for smoother journeys ahead. 🚗💨

Most 13-year-olds are worrying about school exams - but Finn Guegan is busy sharing the screen with Tom Hanks: The young actor from Westcott, near Dorking, is starring in Here, a new blockbuster directed by Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump, Back to the Future). Finn, who plays a young Richard Young, filmed at Pinewood Studios and even got to meet Hollywood royalty along the way.
