Victoria Way Car Park to Close for Major Repairs 🚧🚗
Drivers in Woking will need to rethink their parking plans as Victoria Way car park is set to close from Friday, 14th February 2025 following a structural review.
While the building isn’t unsafe, the council says costly repairs and long-term maintenance concerns mean closure is the best option, for now. Officials are exploring the future of the site, considering whether to fund repairs or repurpose the space.
Permit holders will be offered alternative parking elsewhere in town, but for now, it’s another space off the map for Woking’s drivers.
More updates to come as decisions are made and find alternative car parks here. 🚙🔧

The Digest 🗞️😀
Storm Éowyn is sweeping in, bringing blustery conditions and yellow weather warnings across the South East: From Thursday morning, Kent and Sussex will bear the brunt, but by Friday at 5 AM, Surrey joins the mix with gusts of 40-60mph. BBC Weather’s Nina Ridge warns that this wild, stormy spell could last well into February—a dramatic shift from the recent calm. Expect heavy rain, strong winds, and possible travel disruption, but thankfully, the worst of the storm should pass us by. Brace yourselves—it’s going to be a blustery few days! 🌪️💨
Parents in Esher are pushing back against proposed changes to Hinchley Wood School’s admissions policy, fearing it could limit places for local children: The plan, which prioritises students from schools within the academy’s own trust, could leave pupils from Long Ditton St Mary's and Claygate Primary at a disadvantage. Campaigners argue the move ignores the wider community and benefits the trust financially, while school leaders insist the impact will be minimal. With support from MP Ed Davey and a growing number of parents, this fight is far from over. Will the council listen? Watch this space. 🏫📝
Pierrepont Farm, a beloved beauty spot near Frensham, is set to become even more welcoming, thanks to a £70,000 grant from the Surrey Hills Access for All Fund: The funding will improve toilet facilities, picnic areas, and walking routes, ensuring everyone—including those with disabilities—can enjoy the stunning woodland trails and historic carriage track. The improvements will also add informative signage with Braille, two designated disabled parking bays, and better pathways for all visitors. With bluebells in spring, vibrant fungi in autumn, and a chorus of birdsong year-round, Pierrepont Farm is about to become more accessible than ever. 🌿♿
