Let’s get to it.

JUST ANNOUNCED: Joel Dommett at G Live! 🎤

Fancy a night of belly laughs?!

Joel Dommett—the charming host of The Masked Singer and I'm A Celeb finalist—is coming to G Live Bellerby Studio on Tuesday, 11th February 2025, to test out fresh material for his new tour Happy Idiot!

This has just been announced, and tickets go on sale on the 7th February - if you’re interested, mark your calendars!

This is your chance to see one of the UK’s funniest comedians in a more intimate setting before he takes his polished show on the road.

Expect hilarious new jokes, unfiltered stories, and probably a few self-deprecating tales—all for just £17 (plus a cheeky transaction fee).

🔞 Age restriction: 14+ (because, let’s be honest, Joel’s comedy isn’t exactly PG)
Running time: 60 minutes, no interval
📍 Where? G Live Bellerby Studio, Guildford
⏰ When? 8:00 PM, 11th February 2025

🎟️ Tickets will be selling fast—mark your calendar and set alarms!

(And who knows? You might even witness a joke so fresh, it’ll never make it to the final tour… or it’ll become his next viral moment! 🚀)

Dating back to 1854, this Grade I listed Historic Park and Garden is the largest cemetery in the UK, stretching across 220 acres of stunning landscapes.

A hidden boardwalk over wetlands, towering giant redwoods (Brookwood boasts the largest collection in the country!), and a peaceful, almost otherworldly atmosphere.

I’ll definitely be back on a sunny day with more time—there’s so much more to explore! 🌿🌳

Free Trees in Bramley – Get Yours Before They’re Gone! 🌳

Ever fancied growing your own little slice of woodland? Well, now’s your chance!

Bramley Library is giving away FREE trees on Saturday, 8th February 2025, as part of Surrey County Council’s ambitious plan to plant 1.2 million trees by 2030. 🌍🌱

Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or someone who’s only ever kept a plastic plant alive, this is your chance to green up your garden for free. These are native broadleaf trees, which means they’ll blend beautifully into Surrey’s natural landscape.

Plus, they come with:

✔️ A stake (so they don’t flop over like a bad hair day)
✔️ A biodegradable tie (keeping them secure but eco-friendly)
✔️ Guidance on how to plant and care for them (because even trees need TLC)

💡 Things to know:

  • First-come, first-served! Once they’re gone, they’re gone!

  • You’ll need to plant it within a week, so clear a spot in your garden now.

  • Trees are perfect for adding shade, attracting wildlife, and making your neighbours jealous of your eco-credentials.

📍 Where? Bramley High Street
⏰ When? 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM, 8th February 2025
💰 Cost? Absolutely free—just turn up and grab one!

Imagine looking out your window in a few years and seeing a fully grown tree that you planted. 🌳 Pretty cool, right? So, set your alarms, bring a big smile (and maybe a wheelbarrow if you're feeling fancy), and let’s make Surrey even greener!

Will you be picking up a tree? Let us know!

The Digest 🗞️😀

Good news for Surrey’s waterways! Southern Water has wrapped up a £13.8 million upgrade at the Lingfield Wastewater Treatment Works, bringing cleaner water and better environmental protection to the area. 🌊 The improvements—18 months in the making—have slashed phosphorus levels in Eden Brook by over 85%, while boosting the plant’s capacity to treat 50% more wastewater. That means fewer storm overflows, better water quality, and a healthier local ecosystem. It’s a big step forward for Surrey’s rivers—now if only fixing potholes was this efficient! 🚰💧

Contactless payments are expanding to more rail stations: From this Sunday, passengers at Ashford, Staines, Egham, Virginia Water, Kempton Park, Sunbury, Upper Halliford, and Shepperton can simply tap in and out at barriers or machines for a smoother journey. This long-awaited upgrade was delayed by a cyber attack on TfL, but now the rollout is back on track. The Department for Transport promises "simpler" fares with the best available price—though let’s be honest, we’ll believe that when we see it! More Surrey stations, including Dorking, Leatherhead, and Reigate, are set to follow in 2025. Finally, a ticketing system that doesn’t feel like it belongs in the last century! 🚉📲

A major boost for cancer patients in north west Surrey—construction has begun on a £1.9m Macmillan Support Centre at Ashford Hospital: This much-needed facility will offer counselling, complementary therapies, and emotional & financial support, all under one roof. Originally set to open last year, the centre is now on track for a late spring launch, providing a holistic approach to cancer care in partnership with Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Trust. Macmillan’s Sonia Sudhakar says this is a huge step forward in ensuring patients and families get the best possible support—because cancer care isn’t just about treatment, it’s about quality of life too. 💚🎗️
