Perched on Colley Hill, the striking Inglis Memorial was gifted to the Borough of Reigate in 1909 by Lieutenant Colonel Sir Robert William Inglis.

Once a drinking fountain for horses along the original Reigate Hill route, it’s now a scenic rest stop for walkers.

From here, you can pick up the North Downs Way National Trail, a 153-mile route from Farnham to Dover, offering breathtaking views and a rich history.

The Digest 🗞️😀

Three of the biggest names in darts stepped up to the oche at Nescot College in Epsom, proving that maths isn't just about textbooks—it's about hitting the right numbers under pressure: Michael van Gerwen, Devon Petersen, and Paul Nicholson put their skills to the test in a five-leg match before engaging students in a darts-themed maths quiz and Q&A. The trio, who were awarded honorary fellowships, also helped launch Nescot’s newly-branded maths department, where each classroom now boasts a dartboard and the name of a legendary player. As van Gerwen put it, “It’s great to see darts inspiring students”—turns out, counting down from 501 isn’t just for pub nights! 🎯📏

If you’ve ever felt like your local train station is more of a waiting room for disappointment than a transport hub, you’re not alone: Earlswood and Salfords in Surrey have just been named and shamed among the worst stations for cancellations, with a staggering 11.7% of trains failing to show up between January and February. For the first time, this frustrating data is being displayed publicly at stations, making it impossible for train operators to sweep delays under the rug. So, next time you’re left staring at an empty track, at least you’ll have official confirmation that your station is one of the worst in the country! 🚆⏳

Godstone residents are facing a long road to recovery after two massive sinkholes swallowed part of the High Street, forcing evacuations and leaving homes in limbo: The first hole, which appeared on February 17, quickly expanded to 65ft long, and while foam concrete has been pumped in to stabilise it, Surrey County Council warns that a permanent fix could take months—or even up to a year for some residents to return home. With investigations still underway, patience is wearing thin, and for those affected, this is one hole that’s proving very hard to fill. 🏚️🕳️
