Celebrate Autumn at Miles Green Farm – Wreath-Making Workshop! 🍂

Wreaths aren’t just for Christmas! I can’t believe I’ve just said the C word too, it’s only September!

If you’re ready to say goodbye to summer and welcome in the cosy Autumn vibes, you’re in luck!

On Sunday, September 22nd at 5:00 PM, Miles Green Farm is hosting the perfect event to embrace the beauty of the new season: an Autumn Equinox Wreath-Making Workshop!

The air is a little crisper, the leaves are just starting to turn, and you’re creating your very own autumn wreath, full of dried flowers, berries, and lush foliage, sounds like a great afternoon to me, and just look at how beautiful they are..

This workshop is perfect for all skill levels.

By the end of the evening, you’ll have a gorgeous, handmade creation to hang on your door (or maybe show off on Instagram first, if you do, tag us!).

Plus, it’s a lovely way to unwind, get a little meditative, and celebrate the transition into autumn with friends and neighbors.

🗓 When: Sunday, September 22, 2024 – 5:00 PM
📍 Where: Miles Green Farm
💡 Why: Because autumn deserves a proper welcome (and your door deserves a gorgeous wreath)!

The Digest 🗞️😀

Farnham has just been crowned the "best place to live" in the UK for 2024, and it’s easy to see why: Georgian architecture, cobbled streets, and a vibrant mix of old and new, let’s face it, it’s a good combination, and it offers residents everything from great schools (like Frensham Heights and South Farnham) to lovely wine bars and indie boutiques. Plus, it's only 35 miles from London, making it the perfect spot for city workers looking for a bit of countryside charm. With an average property price of £676,608, Farnham might not come cheap, but it’s packed with character! 🍷🛍️

Young people in Surrey are being invited to join the Runnymede Junior Rangers programme, a fantastic chance for teens aged 13 to 18 to dive into hands-on conservation work. Run by the National Trust and funded by Runnymede Borough Council, this scheme offers 20 lucky teens the chance to help protect wildlife and gain experience in tasks like tree planting, woodland management, and wildlife surveys. The programme kicks off on October 6th and runs for six months with monthly sessions, so if you know a young conservationist in the making, they’ve got until September 16th, which is today, to apply, and you can do that here. 🌿👦👧

The Rural Life Living Museum in Farnham has raised over half of the £150,000 it urgently needs to stay open, bringing in an impressive £90,000 so far. Despite this great progress, the museum still needs £60,000 by the end of October to secure its future. Rising operational costs, including a "crippling" electricity bill and fewer visitors, have put the museum at risk of closure. The museum, home to over 40,000 agricultural artefacts, is determined to protect its legacy and has "big plans for the future," but it needs support to make it happen! If you’d like to contribute to such a great cause, here’s the link you need! 🌾🏛️
