I’ve only just caught wind of Rick Stein coming to Guildford, so I’m sharing the news!

On Sunday, 9th March 2025, the legendary Rick Stein, aka the master of all things fish and flavour, will grace G Live with his culinary charm.

If you’ve ever wanted to pick the brain of a Michelin man (or, you know, just drool over his stories of world-class cooking), this is your chance.

Rick’s journey is packed with stories - think musical interludes, poetry (who knew?), and tales from around the globe!

Farnham’s First Lantern Festival – Light Up the Night! 🌟🏮

Farnham Town Council is wrapping up Craft Month in style with Farnham’s first-ever Lantern Festival on Thursday, 31st October at Gostrey Meadows. Glowing lanterns, live music, and a parade that’ll light up the town in the most magical way, doesn’t sound too shabby!

Here’s the rundown:

• From 5 PM – The evening kicks off with live music from The Nefarious Picaroons, plus local refreshments served up by The Coffee Can and Farnham Brewing Co. 🎶☕🍺

• 6:30 PM – Lantern holders gather for the big parade over to St Andrew’s Church, where these stunning lanterns will shine as part of a week-long communal art display! 🌠

👉 Location: Gostrey Meadows, Farnham, Surrey
⏰ Time: Thurs 31st October 2024, 5:00 PM - 7:30 PM

Bonus at St. Andrew’s: You can warm up with refreshments and enjoy a special performance by pianist Nick Thurston.

Zoolab’s Halloween Special at Alice Holt Forest 🕷️🐍

Alice Holt Forest have pulled it out the bag again! All mini explorers and creature lovers will love this, back by popular demand, Zoolab is bringing its Halloween magic to Alice Holt Forest on Friday, 1st November.

Get up close with snakes, spiders, and other fascinating critters in this hands-on show that’s perfect for adventurous kiddos, young naturalists and brave parents!

There’s loads of session times, I’ve outlined them all below.

Redhill Library is set to reopen in the summer of 2025, with a fresh new look and safer structure after the discovery of dodgy concrete last year put a pause on things: The library’s overhaul includes a brand-new children’s area, meeting rooms, and more study space, so there’s something for everyone. Surrey County Council’s Denise Turner-Stewart said the library refresh was part of a planned transformation, and it’ll be worth the wait! Until then, you’ll find Redhill Library’s temporary digs in the Belfry Shopping Centre, opening from 18th November. Almost there, Redhill readers! 📖📚
