🌳 The Lindt Gold Bunny Hunt, Farnham Charity In Need & What's On This Weekend! | 4th April
Good morning, Surrey. Simon here! This is Inspired Surrey. You know it’s warming up when you read the words “Easter” and “Sunshine” in the same Newsletter.
In today’s Inspired Surrey:

What’s on Guide for this weekend 📅
Let’s get to it.

The Great GOLD BUNNY Hunt Returns to Hampton Court! 🍫🐰

It’s that time of the year, the time of year we can have as much chocolate as we like guilt free - well, that’s what I tell myself!
The Lindt GOLD BUNNY Hunt is back at Hampton Court Palace!
Bring the little ones (or just your inner child) for a chocolatey adventure through 60 acres of stunning palace gardens.
You’ll be on the lookout for shiny gold bunnies hiding among daffodils and early tulips, each one with a ribbon that hints at historical figures from the palace’s past.
Match them all correctly and — ta-da! — you’ll be rewarded with an adorable Lindt GOLD BUNNY. Yes, the good stuff. 🍬🐇
🗓️ When:
29 March – 21 April
Open during palace hours
Included in palace admission (members go free!)
Recommended for kids aged 3–12 — but hey, no judgment if you’re 43 and still chasing bunnies.
Keep your eyes peeled for the Palace Pioneers from 5–21 April — actors in costume popping up around the grounds, telling tales, cracking jokes, and maybe even sneaking in their own bunny hunt attempts. It’s like Bridgerton meets The Great British Bake Off, with more chocolate and fewer scandals.
🥪 Bonus:
Refuel after your hunt at one of the palace cafés — cake and coffee have never tasted so royal.
🎟️ Book your tickets here: The Lindt Gold Bunny Hunt!

Save Change of Scene: Farnham Charity Faces Easter Deadline 🐾🐑

A beloved Farnham charity that’s been changing lives through animal-assisted learning for over 16 years is now in a race against time.
Change of Scene needs to raise £300,000 by Easter to secure a new 12-acre site — or risk closing its gates for good.
The team had been hopeful about a relocation, but plans fell through when the land turned out to be a shooting ground.
Now they’re urgently appealing for help to keep their vital work going with disabled and vulnerable young people.
No land, no funds, no future — and that’s a scene none of us want to see. 🐕⏳
If you’d like to donate, you can do so here.

The Digest 🗞️😀
Surrey’s roadwork woes might finally be getting the attention they deserve: Ministers are being pushed to overhaul how emergency utility works and major infrastructure projects are managed, after Surrey County Council, National Highways, and six utility giants teamed up to demand better digital coordination tools and clearer communication. With a whopping 88 roadworks starting daily across the county, SCC wants an independent roadworks commissioner, mandatory signage for delays, and more consideration for walkers and cyclists. Runnymede MP Dr Ben Spencer even brought a bill to Parliament, calling the ongoing chaos “simply unacceptable.” Honestly, if you've dodged cones, closures, and random detours lately—you know exactly what he means! 🚧😤
Good news from East Surrey Hospital — visiting is (mostly) back to normal after a two-week norovirus outbreak put the brakes on seeing loved ones: Since 19 March, the hospital had asked folks to stay away unless absolutely necessary, but now only three wards remain under temporary restrictions. That means the majority of patients can enjoy more company again — just remember, if you've had a tummy bug recently, stay home until you've been symptom-free for 48 hours. Let’s keep those germs on lockdown, not the visitors! 🏥🦠
A heartfelt piece of history is heading home: Guildford Cathedral is loaning the Practice Jarrow Stone back to its original stomping ground in the north-east, marking the strong bond between Surrey and Jarrow that dates back to the 1930s. When Jarrow was struggling post-WWI, Surrey stepped up with a £40,000 lifeline thanks to Sir John Jarvis. In return, Jarrow gifted a stone from the monastery of the Venerable Bede — now proudly part of Guildford Cathedral. Since the original can’t be moved, the practice stone (used by the stonemasons before carving the real deal) will be making the journey instead. A touching tribute to solidarity across the decades 💛🪨
