The Ghost Tour of Guildford: A Horribly Entertaining Evening 🎃👻
If you’re looking for a Friday night plan that’s equal parts spooky, silly, and steeped in local history, then The Ghost Tour of Guildford is calling your name—probably from beyond the grave.
Running this Friday 29th November, this eerie expedition through Guildford's haunted past is a must-try for thrill-seekers, history buffs, and anyone who loves a good (terrifying) laugh.
🗓️ When?
Friday 29th November at 8:00 PM. The tour lasts approximately 1 ¾ hours.
📍 Where?
Meet on the pavement outside Holy Trinity Church at the top of Guildford High Street (just past Sainsbury’s). The tour covers about 20 spooky sites, including The Castle Grounds, Quarry Street, and the infamous King’s Head Pub.
🎟️ Tickets:
Adults: £10
Under 16s: £5 (family-friendly, but recommended for ages 8 and up).
Just turn up—no booking required!
This isn’t your average walking tour.
Led by a seasoned storyteller, you’ll hear creepy tales of hauntings, curses, and even phantom dogs.
Discover why Holy Trinity Church is cursed, learn about the Lady in Grey of Tunsgate, and uncover Guildford’s darkest secrets, from ghostly pubs to execution spots. It's gruesome, fascinating, and just a little ridiculous.
The tour is accessible for all:
Runs in any weather—so bring your brolly or brave the rain.
Wheelchair-friendly, and yes, dogs are welcome (even ghostly ones).
Why You’ll Love It:
The Ghost Tour of Guildford has been scaring and entertaining locals and visitors since 2001. It's an experience that’s part history lesson, part comedy, and 100% spooky fun. Whether you’re a skeptic or a believer, it’s a unique way to see Guildford like never before.
So grab your coat, bring a torch, and prepare to laugh, learn, and scream your way through the cobbled streets of Guildford. No booking, no nonsense—just show up this Friday at 8 PM! 👻

The Digest 🗞️😀
Be careful in Woking, high winds from Storm Bert wreaked havoc in Woking on Sunday, dislodging a 35ft cladding panel on a high-rise building, forcing the closure of Victoria Way and part of the Victoria Place shopping centre. Surrey Fire & Rescue responded swiftly to reports of the loose panel swaying perilously above a viewing deck, prompting road closures for safety. While Woking Borough Council reassured residents that the building is safe and the issue was minor, the incident brought back memories of similar cladding concerns in 2021. Thankfully, Victoria Way has since reopened, but locals are keeping a cautious eye on their skyline! 🌬️🚧
This December, Waverley Borough Council is spreading Christmas cheer with free bus rides to local high streets in Farnham, Godalming, Cranleigh, and Haslemere: Running from 16 December to Christmas Eve (9:30 AM – 2:30 PM), the initiative, in partnership with Hoppa, aims to boost footfall for local retailers who’ve worked hard to make their high streets sparkle this season. Shoppers can also enjoy free parking after 3 PM on select days, making it even easier to shop local and soak in the festivities. Register for the bus via Hoppa’s website or by giving them a call. Let's keep our town centres merry and thriving this Christmas! 🎅✨
After months of closure and a stunning £4m renovation, Dorking Halls is set to dazzle audiences once again with its official reopening on 9 December: The historic 1930s Art Deco theatre now boasts a brand-new ceiling, greener and sharper film projectors, fresh toilets, and a stylish new lobby. The revamped venue will kick things off with screenings of Paddington in Peru, Wicked, and Gladiator II, followed by a magical Sleeping Beauty pantomime starting 20 December. A special reopening event on 6 December will showcase the impressive upgrades—don’t miss it! Dorking is ready to roll out the red carpet for locals and cinema lovers alike, book your tickets. 🎬🌟
