Woking’s Highly Anticipated Car Show Coming Up Quick! 🚗

We’re getting better at giving you more notice for Surrey’s best events!

Whether you're a fan of classic American muscle or sleek modern marvels, this free event is a must-see for visitors and exhibitors alike.

Terry Fox, an absolute local legend from Horsell (and proud owner of a stunning 1950 Chevrolet pick-up), is back at the wheel of this community-loved event.

After last year’s massive success, Terry promises another fantastic day out, packed with over 70 new and returning exhibitors. Expect to see everything from Mustangs to McLarens and even some rare gems like the Borgward and the BSA Super Rocket.

Here’s a brief selection of what to expect:

  • Special appearance from our fave Autobot, Bumblebee.

  • Nova Cinema will be showing car-themed films throughout the day!

This event runs from 11am to 4pm, so come down, browse some incredible cars, and enjoy the atmosphere.

The Digest 🗞️😀

After years of dealing with the chaos of a massive fuel leak, Bramley is determined to bounce back. Local legends Gill Longdon and Helen are on a mission to let everyone know: Bramley is open for business! That’s why over 40 local shops, pubs, and cafes have banded together to form the Bramley Business Network. Their goal? To keep doors open, attract customers, and ensure the future of the village's thriving businesses. Gill, who runs Bramley Golf Course, shared: “We’re pushing for compensation and action to make sure our businesses have a sustainable future. We can’t let Bramley get a bad rep because of traffic and roadworks!”The message is clear: roadworks may be ongoing, but Bramley is back and ready to welcome you! So, why not head down and support your local businesses? It’s time to show Bramley some love! ❤️🙌

Unsurprisingly M25 named Surrey’s worst speeding hotspot: If you’re hitting the road in Surrey, watch your speed - especially on the M25! A stretch between junctions 7 and 16 has been named the county's top speeding hotspot, with nearly 22,000 offences recorded in the last year alone. Surrey Police issued an insane £13 million in speeding fines between April 2023 and 2024. The M25 isn't alone on the naughty list. The A217 Dover's Green Road in Reigate and the M3 between junctions 2 and 4a also saw thousands of drivers caught putting the pedal to the metal - see if any roads near you make the list: here! 🚗💨

In a brilliant story, baby Louis Illsley made an unforgettable entrance into the world - right in the car park of Bagshot Gardens Care Home! Louis surprised his parents, Jess and Joe, when her contractions hit while they were en route to Frimley Hospital. With no time to spare, they pulled into the care home, where Louis was safely delivered by Joe, with the guidance of a 999 operator and the help of the care home staff! As a tribute to the care home, the couple gave Louis the middle name ‘Avery,’ after the home’s parent company. Recently, the Illsley family returned for a reunion with the staff who helped bring Louis into the world, and it was a special moment for the residents too - some of whom are approaching 100 years old, while Louis isn’t even 100 days old yet! 🍼❤️
